An overview of the College of Agriculture and Marshlands
The College of Agriculture and Marshlands was established in the academic year 2006/2007 under the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up No. M3/2183 on 5/11/2006. It consists of three academic departments:
Department of Animal Production.
Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
Field Crops Department.
Agriculture plays an important and fundamental role in the economies of the world, and constitutes one of the most important tributaries of the national economy in many countries of the world. These countries strive to develop agriculture in various ways with the aim of supplying the national economy with their resources to serve their people and achieve prosperity and food security. Dhi Qar Governorate is considered one of the agricultural governorates in Iraq, in addition to Because it contains a number of marshes, which are important bodies of water economically, socially, heritage and culturally. It is necessary to pay attention to it in a systematic manner for the purpose of developing it for the better, hence the establishment of the College of Agriculture at our university to contribute to the graduation of agricultural cadres loaded with modern agricultural sciences to contribute to the development and revitalization of this sector.
